Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) launched in December 2005 is Government of India’s (GoI) reform oriented approach for comprehensive and integrated urban development, initially for 63 identified cities. Acknowledging the critical role of cities in the country’s current economic context, JNNURM aims at providing incentives to cities to undertake institutional, structural and fiscal reforms to improve service delivery systems, boost local economic performance and enhance quality of life. The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), GoI has earmarked grants amounting to approximately Rs. 50,000 crores for the implementation of projects under the programme over a period of seven years

IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (IIDC) has been involved with the Ministry of Urban Development in the deliberations and preparation of the toolkits of JNNURM

IIDC is an empanelled organisation for the preparation of City Development Plans (CDP), which is a mandatory requirement for obtaining assistance under JNNURM

IIDC is currently involved in the preparation of CDPs for Asansol, Guwahati and supporting PDCOR, JV of Government of Rajasthan and IL&FS, for various cities in Rajasthan. In various other States, IIDC is envisaging the role of comprehensive process management and handholding for development and implementation of identified projects under JNNURM
